Notes - John Wilmot Cook may have been one of the first Salcombe lifeboatmen. There was a J Cook listed as one of the crew in 1870 on the "Rescue"
in 1911 he was a confectioner/ baker living 76 Fore St with his Wife, Son Roland, Daughter Mabel and Son in Law Adams Hannaford Shepherd.
His Grandson John Ashley Cook was one of the lifeboatmen that perished in the 1916 lifeboat disaster.
